Free The Fathers works to free Catholic Priests that are being held captive by the Chinese Government. Over the past 20 years, Free The Fathers has helped win freedom for several Catholic Priests being held in captivity.

Unfortunately, many Priests are never released from the Communists' prisons. Bishop Joseph Fan was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Baoding in the People's Republic of China. The Bishop was arrested for ordaining young priests to serve the Church. He was held in captivity from 1958 until his death in 1991.

The Communist beat him until his legs were broken and bashed in his skull. Then they delivered his body to his family in a green plastic trash bag!

Today, it is estimated that all Roman Catholic bishops, totaling over 100 Catholic bishops and priests, are detained and kept from fulfilling their call to serve the loyal Chinese Catholics.

Through letter-writing campaigns and other methods, Free The Fathers focuses on bringing international attention to the plight of these priests, knowing that one day, the Chinese regime will buckle to international pressure and free these brave men of faith.
